Ekips Technologies has expertise in both lasers and laser
systems. We are currently designing and building mid-infrared
laser absorption spectroscopy systems for measurement of specific
gas phase molecules. Utilizing some of the latest advances in
solid state electronic devices, digital signal processor (DSP)
chips, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), software
engineering, and mechanical engineering, our engineering team has
successfully created a series of prototype instruments designed
primarily for life science applications such as breath
analysis.
The
technologies involved in our products continue to advance at a
steady pace. Based on expected future improvements, we
anticipate a reduction in the size of our laser-based chemical
sensors from a tabletop form factor to a handheld form factor.
Achieving this advance, for example, will require development of
improved mid-infrared lasers. Ekips proprietary CoolEpi
technology provides a viable approach for fabricating lasers that
have efficient operation at room temperature, features that will
enable creation of handheld laser-based sensors designed to measure
biologically important molecules.
