Ekips Technologies was spun out of the University of Oklahoma
following receipt of an exclusive license in 1999 for laser
technology initially developed in the School of Electrical and
Computer Engineering at OU. Company operations began in October
2000 after receiving a first round of equity financing from the
Oklahoma Life Sciences Fund.
Since then the company has grown to over 10 employees, has received more than $3 million in research grant funding from NSF, NIH, USDA, and OCAST, and has closed a second round of equity financing.
